Terms of use
The platform operator is Quote Ninja (Pty) Ltd (registration pending), Menlyn Maine, Pretoria, South Africa.
1. What Quote Ninja is
Quote Ninja is a quote-request and lead-referral service. We are not an insurer, underwriter, broker, credit provider or financial services provider, and we do not give financial advice. All quotes, options, advice and policies come from licensed providers: FSP-registered brokers for car, home, life and funeral cover, CMS-accredited brokers for medical aid, and NCR-registered credit providers for personal loans.
2. Estimates are not quotes
The indicative monthly range shown on Quote Ninja is generated by a simple rules engine using the answers you give. It is an illustration only. Your actual premium is determined by the broker and insurer after underwriting, and may be higher or lower.
3. Your information
You confirm that the details you provide are true and that you are entitled to share them. By submitting the form you consent to your request being shared with up to three licensed providers, as set out in our privacy policy.
4. No obligation
Using Quote Ninja is free for consumers. You are under no obligation to accept any quote or to take out any policy.
5. Broker terms
Brokers must be registered FSPs (or, for medical aid, CMS-accredited brokers, and for loans, NCR-registered credit providers) in good standing and must keep their FSP number and contact details current. Leads are charged from a prepaid wallet at the price shown at the time a lead is accepted. Charges are raised on acceptance, not on assignment. Unaccepted leads expire after the SLA period and may be re-routed.
Brokers may lodge a dispute for a wrong number, a duplicate, or a contact who never requested quotes. Approved disputes are refunded to the wallet. Wallet balances are not refundable in cash and expire 24 months after the last top-up.
Brokers agree to the following rules for all lead information they receive:
- Lead information may be used solely to prepare the specific quote or advice the consumer requested, for that one product line, and not to market any other product.
- Lead information may not be resold, shared or transferred to any other company, broker, individual or database, whether for payment or otherwise.
- Lead information may not be kept in the broker’s own CRM or marketing database beyond what is needed to service that specific request. It must be deleted within 30 days of the matter closing, except where the law requires it to be kept (for example, FAIS record-keeping).
- Contact is limited strictly to the product or request received. Brokers may not solicit the consumer for unrelated products.
- When a consumer asks for their details to be deleted, the broker must do so within 7 days and confirm the deletion in writing.
- Quote Ninja may ask for evidence of compliance with these rules, which the broker must provide within 14 days.
- A breach of these rules is material and may result in immediate suspension or termination of the broker’s account, forfeiture of the wallet balance, a report to the broker’s regulator (the FSCA, the Council for Medical Schemes or the National Credit Regulator, as applicable), and any other remedy available in law.
- The broker indemnifies Quote Ninja against any loss, claim or regulatory action arising from the broker’s breach of these rules.
- These obligations survive the termination of the broker’s account.
5A. Partner terms
Partners that operate a branded Quote Ninja site are contractually responsible for ensuring that their linked advisers comply with the broker rules in section 5. Quote Ninja may enforce those rules against the partner directly for any breach by one of its advisers.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by South African law, Quote Ninja is not liable for the conduct of brokers, the accuracy of quotes, or any loss arising from a policy you take out. Our total liability to any consumer is limited to zero, as the service is provided free of charge.
7. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the updated version. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of Gauteng have jurisdiction.
